If you follow me on social media – or you’ve spoken to me at all recently (possibly even if I simply bought milk from you) – you may know the third book in The Energetics Series is out this week.
I am a wild-eyed, messy-haired, slightly-frantic, somewhat-tense writer at this moment.
I have a lot of lists on the go, and keep thinking of more things to add.
I’ve forgotten to eat a couple of meals, and am pretty sure I’ve eaten some others twice.
I am steely-eyed and purposeful 75% of the time, and distracted and staring into space in a blank panic the other 25%.
I’m fond of the character Nixie, even though I’m slightly jealous of her easy sex-positivity and happy-go-lucky nature (and magic powers!). And I adore the contrast she and Jeb (the Healer in the story, and her love interest) make, and how they balance each other out.
In books 1 and 2, the heroines have some of my characteristics in there (I won’t tell you which!). But in book 3, there’s more Jeb in me with his serious approach to life and his focus on responsibility, than Nixie.
Yet Nixie has valuable lessons to teach me, and perhaps some of you?
Some of these are quite timely.
She reminds me that so many of us take life far too seriously, worrying about the future and forgetting to really, truly, live in the present.
Thus to honour her in her launch week, I’m going to focus on the now, and enjoy every moment.
She and Jeb look forward to meeting you soon.
Nixie and the Healer is available on in all good online and offline bookshops from 9th June, 2019. Check it out here.
